Cheryl was born and reared in a small town in Tennessee. After graduating from college, she taught school for three years in Nashville. After living in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, again, and then Michigan, she settled in Austin. While raising her daughter and son here in Austin, she worked for the State of Texas, mostly serving older Texans, especially as an advocate. At that time, Cheryl also earned her real estate license. After having enjoyed working with Habitat Hunters as a customer, she joined as one of their real estate agents in 1985.
Since 2006, Cheryl and her daughter, Chereen, have been buying, remodeling, leasing and selling homes. Cheryl personally remodels and sells her homes. When Cheryl retired from Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, she began to focus entirely on real estate. At Habitat Hunters, she assists sellers and buyers; and with Top Trip Rentals, owned by her daughter, she works in property management, helping short-term renters realize great experiences in Austin and Lake LBJ.
Some of Cheryl’s interests include activities with friends and family, especially her three grandchildren, traveling and reading. In the community, she serves as a board member for Village Christian Apartments and volunteers at Habitat for Humanity.
