Cheryl was born and reared in a small town in Tennessee. After graduating from college, she taught school for three years in Nashville. Then via FL, GA, TN (again), and MI, she settled in Austin. While rearing her daughter and son, she worked for the State of Texas. Her state-level work focused on services to older Texas especially as an advocate. In addition, Cheryl earned her real estate license and joined Habitat Hunters Real Estate in 1985, after having been a client of theirs.
Cheryl personally remodels and sells her homes. Since 2006, she and daughter, Chereen, remodel, buy & hold, or flip homes.
When she retired from Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services in 2013, Cheryl re-focused on real estate. Via Habitat Hunters, she assists sellers and buyers. Through Top Trip Rentals, owned by her daughter, she works in property management to help short-term renters realize great experiences in Austin and Lake LBJ.
Some interests include activities with family (three grandchildren) and friends, traveling, and reading. In the community, she serves as a board member for Village Christian Apartments and volunteers at Habitat for Humanity.
