Numerous pumpkins ready to be picked

We’ve now officially entered into the season of pumpkin spice everything and cooler temperatures (hopefully those will be coming soon!).

Fall in Austin is an exciting time of year with lots to see and do. As we get ready for Halloween, we want to share some of our favorite fun fall things to do this October—check them out.

Spend the day at our local farms

Arguably, one of the best fall activities is reaping the rewards of a good harvest by going pumpkin picking at a local farm. Lucky for us, there are tons of nearby farms that offer fun-filled events for everyone to enjoy. Here are a few of our favorites:

Live it up at the fall-time festivals

Austin City Limits

Weekend one is now complete, but we’re not done yet! Weekend two of Austin City Limits will be here before you know it with another excellent line up.

Dia de Los Muertos at Fiesta Gardens

Come celebrate life through music at this vibrant festival. From the food to the dancing, Dia de Los Muertos at Fiesta Gardens is rich in culture and entertainment.

Scare up some good times

Boo at the Zoo

Every weekend in October from 6:30 – 9:00 pm, the Austin Zoo is providing Halloween-themed thrills for kids of all ages. Get dressed up in your costumes and head on over for some good times!

House of Torment

This year, the House of Torment is ready to scare up twice the fun with their new bigger location. This attraction is not for the faint of heart so leave the little ones—and your fears—at home!

Enjoy the great outdoors

Science Under the Stars

This free public outreach lecture series will be featuring glowing marine life this October. Check the weather before heading over and be sure to wear sturdy shoes for the tour of the field lab.

Camp Brewhaha

While it may sound like the opening plot of a horror movie, Camp Brewhaha’s all-inclusive Adult Summer Camp party is more like a dream come true. You’ll spend the day drinking Alamo Drafthouse beers and then indulging in all sorts of fun camp activities—from archery to waterslides.

Austin Symphony’s Halloween Children’s Concert

Meant for ages 2-10, the entire family will enjoy the “chills and thrills” this concert has to offer. Costumes are encouraged!

Movies in the Park: Jurassic Park

If you’re ready to get your blood pumping just in time for Halloween, then join Movies in the Park on October 20 when they feature Jurassic Park.

Whether you’re headed out to the local farms or searching for the best Halloween thrill, Austin has something for everyone to do this October. The only thing you’ll need to do to enjoy everything this city has to offer is live here.
